This coffee is produces by several small scale producers in Santana de Caldas.
In the far southwest of Minas Gerais, on the border with São Paulo state, the hot spring town of Poços de Caldas sits inside a caldera (sinkhole).
The region of Santana de Caldas lies to the east of this, on top of the crater formed by the sinkhole. The unique geological formations and fertile volcanic soil contribute to the exceptional quality of the coffee.
Founded in 2018 by 18 woman diagnosed with HIV positive women, Ituze Women Collective has overcome many challenges, they have worked incredibly hard to create a better future for themselves and their families.
The women of Ituze selectively handpick ripe, red cherry and deliver it to Ngamba washing station. At intake, specially trained staff float cherry to remove underripes and then visually inspect cherry and remove any defects. Cherry is pulped and fermented for 10 to 12 hours in fermentation tanks.
Tasting Notes: Black cherry and red apple sweetness with rich and creamy nougat body and long lasting finish.
About The Coffee
Our popular house blend is back!
We've carefully selected and sourced our beans to create a flavour profile that will appeal to discerning palates on a longer run seasonal basis. The Cure is delicious, with an excellent balance of body and acidity, perfect as an espresso or long black, but also delicious in milk as a hot coffee or an iced drink. It's designed to be easy to dial in on both stovetop moka pots or prosumer espresso machines (Sage, Gaggia, Breville, Pavoni, etc).
We know you're always on the hunt for the next great coffee experience, and we're confident that The Cure will not disappoint.
