About The Coffee
This coffee is produced by small holder growers in Inzá municipality, which is part of the Tierradentro region located on the western side of Cauca. This region is 80% inhabited by the indigenous tribe called Paeces. The average size of the farm is 0.5 to 1.5 hectares.
Our importer collaborates with Occicafe and Globalcafe on this coffee. Through them our importer can have a direct relationship with the farmers and have better control on the quality. Farmers own small parcels of land where they grow coffee at 1700 m.a.s.l and the crops are mainly Castillo and Caturra.
Our importer is a family business who has grown and distributed the finest Colombian coffee to local exporters for over 80 years. In 2015 they expanded their operations and began producing, sourcing and exporting specialty coffee to the rest of the world.
As growers, they specialise in alternative fermentation processes that are new to Colombia. on their farm, and in their processing centre La Pradera, the most exotic varieties are processed achieving unique profiles that are unknown for Colombian coffees.
They also represent and support a large number of Colombian specialty coffee growers like the Inza smallholders. Their aim is to encourage direct relationships between farmers at origin and roasters around the world.
