Jose has lived and worked on the farm since childhood. Firstly with cattle and later after the death of his father, he and his brothers started to plant the first coffee.
As costs have risen and prices remained the same Jose needed a way to increase the value of his harvest. In 2016 he started to attend lectures of Flavio Borem (an agronomist specialising in coffee) at the university of Lavas. Here he learnt the drying techniques used to increase coffee quality for the specialty market and in 2018 Jose invested in new patios and drying silos. This was a difficult decision, made necessary by the continued unsustainable commodity price of coffee. He was unsure of the results.
This coffee is the result of 2 years hard work & shows in the sweet clarity in the cup.
