About The Coffee
Grown by Gonzalo Cifuentes at Finca El Bosque de Libano, this lot is picked & hand sorted by Gonzalo & his family. The harvested cherries are placed in water tanks for 50 hours before pulping, washing & left to dry on raised beds until ideal moisture content is reached.
Gonzalo has been a coffee grower all his life, preserving the tradition of his family. He moved with his family away from social conflict in the region of Antioquia to the more progressive region of Planadas for a more stable life. Gonzalo hopes to instill a love of coffee in his 3 children so that they can continue the family tradition in the future.
In 2015 Gonzalo became a member of AGPROCEM cooperative in Planadas which is a small, enthusiastic self-governed group of small-holder farmers, dedicated to improving coffee quality & future-proofing the agronomical practices in the region.
